Poland has said on Tuesday that they will not shoot down missiles or drones over Ukraine to help protect country.
Polish General and the Chief of the General Staff, Wiesław Kukuła, said they will not intercept any Russian missiles unless they penetrate Polish airspace.
The high-ranking military officer said the Polish military are focused on protecting Poland from any threats.
The head of the Polish General Staff was asked over the possibility of shooting down missiles and drones, he said firmly, “No. Our and the allied position is clear. We will not do this.

In July Kyiv and Warsaw signed a security agreement which was believed at the time Poland would help Ukraine in downing weaponry flying to their country.
The Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said neighbouring countries to Ukraine are “responsible for protecting their own airspace,” this is something that the NATO chief does not want to happen, the Financial Times reported in September.
Earlier this month the Polish deputy Prime Minister has said President Volodymyr Zelensky is wanting “to drag Poland into war with Russia” by asking they shoot down missiles over Ukraine.
During an interview with Radio ZET Krzysztof Gawkowski warned that Poland would enter into war with Russia if they were to shoot down Russian missiles.
Gawkowski said, “Zelensky wants Poland to shoot missiles over Ukraine, which means he wants Poland to enter the war, which means he wants Poland to be at war with Russia.
“By these statements, Zelensky wants to drag Poland into the war with Russia.”
