A senior Ukrainian minister has held a meeting with NATO’s General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg to highlight their “urgent military needs.”

The Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said to Stoltenberg that Winter is setting in which is “expected to complicate fighting.”

Stoltenberg insisted to Umerov that their allies are “committed” to step up their support for Ukraine, which comes after the US has warned that they could stop funding Kyiv as there is “no magical pot” of funding.

US set to cut off military aid which will ‘kneecap Ukraine on the battlefield’

Stoltenberg said, “The Secretary General and Minister Umerov discussed the latest battlefield developments and Ukraine’s urgent military needs.

“With winter expected to complicate fighting, Mr Stoltenberg stressed that Allies are committed to stepping up political and practical support to Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia’s invasion.

“The Secretary General reiterated that NATO will provide long-term support to Ukraine to make Ukraine’s forces fully interoperable within NATO and bring them even closer to the Alliance,” the press service of NATO Headquarters said.

They both discussed Ukraine’s path to NATO membership and Ukraine’s reform efforts.

Mr Stoltenberg reiterated that Ukraine will become a member of NATO when all Allies agree and when conditions are met,” it said.

The US are to cut off funding for Ukraine by the end of the year as they will “run out of resources” and will not be able to procure more weapons.

The White House budget chief Shalanda Young warned on Monday that time is running out for Ukraine which will “kneecap” Ukrainian forces “on the battlefield.”

Young wrote a letter to House Speaker that there is “no magical pot of funding” which will end up being very damaging for Ukraine in their fight against Russian forces.

The war is now in its third winter and Vladimir Putin is playing the long game for Ukraine as he has been throwing everything at the war to win.

Young wrote, “I want to be clear: without congressional action, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to procure more weapons and equipment for Ukraine.”

“Cutting off the flow of US weapons and equipment will kneecap Ukraine on the battlefield,” she added.
