Ukraine launched a massive drone strike on Moscow which forced four airports to close ahead of the 9 May Victory Day parade in the Russian capital.

This is the second consecutive attack on the Russian capital and the aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia said the airports were shut for “safety.”

The Ukrainian attacks were six miles from the Red Square and the Kremlin and nine other airports were also affected.

Moscow’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said, “Some of the debris had landed on one of the key highways into the city.”

Some debris from one drone hit a residential building in Moscow and shock waves shattered windows.

Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein from the southwestern Kursk region, said there was also an attack on an electrical substation in Rylsk on Monday.

Russia warns there is no ‘guarantee Kyiv will live to see May 10’ if they’re attacked during the Victory Day parade

He wrote on Telegram, “As a result of the attack on the city, two transformers were damaged, and the power was completely cut off.”

Last week the Ukrainian President said that Vladimir Putin wanting a three-day ceasefire is nothing but theatrics and Volodymyr Zelensky said he will not play the Russian despot’s “games.”

The Kremlin claims that the three-day truce is to test Kyiv’s “readiness” for long term peace, accusing Zelensky of making a “direct threat” to World War II celebrations in Moscow.

President Zelensky said, “This is more of a theatrical performance on his part. Because in two or three days, it is impossible to develop a plan for the next steps to end the war.”

He added that Kyiv will not be “playing games to create a pleasant atmosphere to allow for Putin’s exit from isolation on 9 May.”

For Russia Victory Day parade leaders from 20 countries will be attending, the Kremlin claims and President Zelensky warned that Kyiv will not “take responsibility” for what happens inside Russia.

He said, “Our position is very simple towards all countries that have travelled or are travelling to Russia on May 9 — we cannot take responsibility for what is happening on the territory of the Russian Federation,” which comes as Kyiv has been asked by countries can they give assurances for their safety inside Russia.

“They are ensuring your safety,” Zelensky said.

He added, Russia “may take various steps on its part, such as arson, explosions, and so on and then blame us.”
