Once repaired they will then will be returned to service, according to the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.

“Performing real-life tasks of this kind allows us to train, maintain the readiness of our personnel, ensure supply chain verification and ongoing support for Ukraine,” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Lithuania has already organised the repair and return to Ukraine of the PzH2000 self-propelled howitzers.

The Lithuanian defense department said in a statement, “In the same year, the first group of 18 mechanics from the Ukrainian army, specialists from the Lithuanian army, was trained in the repair of howitzers, which lose their technical characteristics due to intensive use, and the ability to repair equipment in combat conditions is very necessary.”
