A Ukrainian sniper has set a new world record for the longest confirmed kill as he shot dead two Russian soldiers with one bullet.

The Ukrainian hero took the shot on 14 August 2025 and sniper from the unit “Pryvid” [meaning Ghost] killed the two Russian soldiers from a distance of “4,000 meters.”

The sniper was using a 14.5 Alligator rifle and beat the previous world record set in 2024 by another Ukrainian sniper, the Kyiv Post reported.

In 2023, 58-year-old sniper Viacheslav Kovalskyi, of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), shot dead a Russian soldier from a distance of 3,800 meters, he was using a rifle known as “Lord of the Horizon.”

Military journalist Yuri Butusov said the bullet went through the window before it hit the Russian soldiers who were inside a building in the city of Pokrovsk – Myrnograd, Donetsk.

He wrote, “The record-breaking shot was made on August 14 using AI under the guidance of a UAV complex with a 14.5mm Alligator rifle.”

BUTUSOV PLUS wrote on Telegram, “Incredible accuracy and a new world record for the longest range! A Ukrainian sniper eliminated two Russian servicemen from a distance of 4,000 meters. The bullet went through the window behind which the invaders were (to the left of the pipe).

“The record hit was made on August 14, 2025 using artificial intelligence under the correction of the UAV complex from a 14.5 mm Aligator rifle.

“The footage is exclusive, the location is the direction of defense of the cities of Pokrovsk – Myrnograd in the area of responsibility of the Donetsk OTU, where, in particular, the combined sniper unit “Pryvid” in the number of 8 sniper platoons in parts of the Ground Forces units performs special tasks.

“Impressive efficiency: during the year of performing combat missions in the defense of this direction, almost 1,000 servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces have already been destroyed!

“It is noteworthy that the previous world record also belonged to a Ukrainian. In November 2023, a Ukrainian sniper from the SBU unit, 58-year-old Vyacheslav Kovalskyi, in the Kherson region, eliminated an invader at a distance of 3,800 meters. The shot was made from a Ukrainian-made Horizon’s Lord multi-caliber sniper rifle.”
