Soldiers from the 73rd Marine Center of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) destroyed a Russian reconnaissance mining platform in Crimea used to launch kamikaze drones on Ukraine.

The Special Forces soldiers blew up the “mining platforms” which had enhanced Russia’s operations for launching the Iranian made Mohajer-6 kamikaze drones.

The SOF said, “The Russians used one of the illegally seized mining platforms to enhance the operation of the Iranian-made Mohajer-6 unmanned aerial vehicle.

“Namely, they installed equipment that increases the range and radius of its operation. The enemy used this UAV to conduct reconnaissance and subsequent strikes by Shahed kamikaze drones on critical infrastructure facilities in southern Ukraine.

“In addition, the enemy installed a surface object detection radar station (from motorboats to ships) Neva-B on the platform.

“Through this radar, the Russians controlled the situation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.”

The secret operation took place in the Black Sea where Russian warships are used to patrol the waters.

The SOF said, “At night, the boats of the 73rd marine center of the Special Operation Forces came close to the mining platform.

“After carrying out special actions and cleaning, the object was mined. The combat group retreated to a safe distance and detonated an enemy target.”

They added that Russian equipment was captured and a mast with an antenna was blown up in the daring raid.

The SOF said, “The successfully conducted special operation ensured safer movement of ships and limited the enemy’s capabilities in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.”
