Washington has warned that Vladimir Putin is stockpiling long-range missiles that could be used to attack Western countries.
Russia is producing and stockpiling missiles at startling rate and the US fears that Moscow will use these weapons to attack Europe, it is believed that Russia is producing at least 3,000 cruise and ballistic missiles annually.
US Army Secretary Daniel P Driscoll gave this grave warning whilst meeting with Western diplomats in Kyiv, the New York Times reported.
This is being used as a reason as to why it is essential to pin down a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

Diplomats are worried that should Putin hit Ukraine with everything Russia has then this could very easily spill over the borders into Europe which would inevitably trigger NATO’s Article 5 Act, sources have warned.
Driscoll is a close ally of Vice President J D Vance who has been arguing for Kyiv to accept Russia’s peace deal as he believes the Kremlin has the upper hand.
Speaking to the New York Times, Fabian Hoffmann, a missile expert at the University of Oslo, said, “The launches are not keeping up with production.”
Hoffman then warned that victory for Russia in the war will bring more danger and no safety for Europe.
He added, “If Russia gets away victoriously from this war, they might feel very adventurous in the future and have a massive stockpile of long-range armaments.”
The Russian dictator said that Moscow has a lot of firepower to give to ex-Soviet states in the Russian-led CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organistaion).
Putin told the CSTO in Bishkek, “We propose launching a large-scale programme to equip the collective forces with modern Russian weapons and technology that have proven their effectiveness during real combat operations [in Ukraine].”
The dictator has demanded “increasing the combat readiness of national contingents and improving the command of the collective forces”.
