England tonight complete a successful summer tour with a one-off Test match against the USA in Washington D.C.

Steve Borthwick’s new-look side travel Stateside soaring with confidence after defying the absence of some 14 key players now on British and Irish Lions duty in Australia to produce a remarkable 2-0 series win in Argentina.

Though the Pumas were resting several key performers after a long domestic season with one eye on the Rugby Championship next month, it was nevertheless a real statement of intent and depth from England, who handed senior international debuts to the likes of Seb Atkinson, Guy Pepper, Will Muir and Luke Northmore as they made it six consecutive wins dating back to their strong finish to the Six Nations.

They will be overwhelming favourites to make that seven in a first meeting with the USA since 2021 and first on American soil for 24 years, with Scott Lawrence’s Eagles – now ranked at 16th in the world – having lost 31-20 to Spain in Charlotte last weekend.

USA vs England date, kick-off time and venue

USA vs England takes place tonight, Saturday July 19, 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 10:05pm BST. That is 5:05pm local time.

The match will take place at the 20,000-capacity Audi Field in Washington D.C., the home of football clubs D.C. United and Washington Spirit.

How to watch USA vs England

TV channel: The game is not being shown on television in the UK.

Live stream: Instead, live coverage is available to watch online via the official England Rugby YouTube channel and World Rugby’s streaming service RugbyPass TV, which is free with a sign-up.

Borthwick has unsurprisingly rung the changes for this final summer contest after England’s Test series win in Argentina, with only skipper Ford, centre Northmore and lock Alex Coles retaining their starting berths from San Juan as Van Poortvliet is rewarded for his last-gasp winning score with a start at scrum-half.

Three more official debuts are handed out to Gloucester lock Arthur Clark, Sale full-back Joe Carpenter and Bath centre Max Ojomoh, plus a first start for Pepper at openside flanker.

Charlie Atkinson and Oscar Beard are also primed for their Test debuts off the bench along with Gabriel Oghre, who, along with Newcastle’s Jamie Blamire, was drafted into the squad this week after George’s departure for the Lions and a knee injury to Theo Dan left them notably short at hooker. Curtis Langdon starts there on Saturday.

Cadan Murley lines up on the opposite flank to Feyi-Waboso, with the front row completed by props Bevan Rodd and Asher Opoku-Fordjour. Joining Pepper in the back row is Harlequins pair Chandler Cunningham-South and Alex Dombrandt.

USA XV: Lindenmuth*, Geiger, Davis, Redelinghuys, Naqali, Bonasso (c), Daniel, Fa’Anana-Schulz, De Haas, Hilsenbeck, Fricker, Pittman, Besag, McLean*, Storti

Replacements: Klein, Iscaro, Kofe, Helu, Poidevin, Alikhan, Smith, Futi

England XV: Carpenter*; Feyi-Waboso, Northmore, Ojomoh*, Murley; Ford (c), Van Poortvliet; Rodd, Langdon, Opoku-Fordjour; Coles, Clark*; Cunningham-South, Pepper, Dombrandt

USA vs England head to head (h2h) history and results

England have won all seven previous meetings with the USA, including in 2021 when a side missing their Lions tourists under Eddie Jones ran in seven tries during a 43-29 victory at Twickenham that saw Marcus Smith make his debut.

England’s only previous visit to the USA was in 2001, when they won 48-19 in San Francisco under Sir Clive Woodward.

They also met at World Cups in 2019 and 2007 plus a warm-up in 1999, scoring 106 points on the latter occasion.

USA vs England prediction

Despite their almost wholesale changes and more debuts, in-form England should sign off for the summer with an emphatic seventh consecutive win this weekend.

Confidence is sky-high after the Pumas were tamed so impressively despite that missing Lions contingent, while the USA are in a tough moment having lost to Spain for the first time last weekend.

Per England Rugby’s official stats, a dramatic 30-29 victory over Scotland in Houston in 2018 was their only win in their last 43 games against Six Nations opposition, while they have lost every match against England by an average margin of 36.1 points.

All signs point towards a comfortable victory for the visitors and plenty of tries.

England to win, by 30 points.
