Goodlord is to host a free webinar to explore the outcomes and impact of the Renters (Reform) Bill, following its second reading in Parliament yesterday.

Tomorrow at 10am, Oli Sherlock, director at Goodlord, who is familiar with letting legislation, will join Ryan Heaven, solicitor at Dutton Gregory, to discuss the impact of the second reading, including the reactions of MPs and backbenchers and potential delays to the scrapping of Section 21, and what this means for the timelines of the bill.

The 30-minute discussion will focus on the announcements regarding Section 21 evictions and whether it means a delay or U-turn to the proposed changes to the eviction process. They will go through outlined changes to the courts’ system, and discuss what this change means for the bill, agents, and landlords.

The webinar will also cover other changes, amendments, and proposals to the bill – especially new grounds for student tenancies. In addition, the panel will provide tips and timelines to help agents navigate to the upcoming changes, and discuss any challenges and opportunities that should be considered.

Oli Sherlock, director at Goodlord, commented: “The Renters (Reform) Bill’s progress through Parliament could change key details about Section 21, the courts process, student tenancies, and more. In this webinar, we’ll be breaking down what any changes might be and how agents can help prepare for them.

“Landlords and agents who haven’t yet prepared for the changes must follow progress closely and act quickly so they aren’t on the wrong side of the new regulations when they arrive.”

The webinar is taking place on Wednesday 25 October at 10am. You can sign up here.
