The Euro 2025 semi-finals are taking shape.

England will face Italy in the last four after overcoming Sweden following a dramatic quarter-final tie in Zurich on Thursday night. The Lionesses trailed 2-0 with 11 minutes on the clock but quick-fire goals from Lucy Bronze and Michelle Agyemang forced extra-time and then penalties.

From there, Hannah Hampton stepped up. She saved two penalties as Sarina Wiegman’s side – despite missing four of their own – progressed to keep hopes of retaining the Euro title alive.

There was drama in the first quarter-final tie as Cristiana Girelli netted in the 90th minute to ensure Italy beat Norway.

Spain, the tournament favourites, saw off hosts Switzerland 2-0 on Friday night to reach the semi-finals. France take on Germany in a blockbuster showdown on Saturday night.
