ZEEKR continues to pepper us with tasty tidbits surrounding its latest BEV model, the 7X. In today’s update, we have several official images of the ZEEKR 7X SUV and some pertinent specs, including its battery chemistry and acceleration times.
I feel like I’m talking to ZEEKR more often than my own family these days, but it’s exciting because I get to share consistent updates with you all about the Chinese automaker’s latest model, the 7X.
It feels like only a few days ago that we were learning about plans for a new SUV from the Geely-owned automaker, codenamed “CX1e”… because we were. We wouldn’t get any specs other than the SUV’s measurements, but we quickly learned the incoming model is called the 7X and even got a glimpse at its first image without camouflage.
Rather than keeping everyone waiting in anticipation, ZEEKR followed up with a slew of official images a mere day later and graced us with some details on performance specs and the design language that went into the 7X—have a gander.
ZEEKR 7X specs detail a new five-seat, family-friendly BEV
ZEEKR sent us a large document with fresh details surrounding the 7X, including the root of its model name. The “7” represents its market positioning in the luxury BEV segment and is a nod to being built atop Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). The “X” represents the automaker’s growing line of SUV models and “symbolizes the ZEEKR spirit of breaking conventions.”
One look at the images above reveals that its overall design appears to be more of a return to conventions in the SUV space. Rather than opting for the crossover coupe style favored by many other OEMs producing all-electric SUVs, ZEEKR has developed an original design that strays less from the traditional look of SUV aesthetics.
However, in true ZEEKR fashion, the 7X will give future drivers a taste of the very latest in technology and luxury – here are some of its specs:
- Measurements:
- Length 4825mm
- Width 1930mm
- Height 1656mm
- Wheelbase: 2925mm (ZEEKR says it enables the largest interior space in its class)
- Battery Configuration: LFP with lithium ternary batteries as an alternative option
- SAE Platform: 800V across all variants, enabling ultra-fast charging
- Power Configuration:
- Silicon carbide rear electric drive comes standard for the whole series, with a maximum power of 310kW.
- A 4WD dual-motor version will also be available with 475kW (165kW and 310 kW motors) of maximum power and can accelerate from 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) in 4 seconds.
- Chassis configuration: Optional air suspension
With its return to more of a classic SUV design in BEVs, ZEEKR says it enacted three essential pillars in the 7X – safety, comfort, and freedom for not only drivers but their families through all of life’s driving scenarios. Per ZEEKR:
As ZEEKR’s fifth model, the luxury large five-seater ZEEKR 7X debuts with original design, expansive space, top-tier safety, and powerful performance. ZEEKR 7X aims to redefine mainstream SUV standards and create a new luxury pure electric travel experience.
Some 7X specs ZEEKR left out include range, pricing, and availability, but at this rate, we are sure to learn more soon. The Chinese automaker did share that the new SUV’s “future market performance is highly anticipated.” This will be a model to keep an eye on as ZEEKR is eyeing the global BEV market for its release.
