The Newton family, well-known operators in the local property sector in Grantham and the surrounding areas, has announced that its newly launched David GraceEstate Agency brand has hit the ground running with the acquisition of a long-established lettings business.

Mark Newton, who has over 50 years of estate agency experience and two well-established Grantham businesses under his belt, has joined forces with his son David, and daughter Grace, to complete on the acquisition of East Midlands Property Management (EMPM).

“This is a very exciting opportunity for our new brand, DavidGrace Estate Agency, which is a Newton Family Estate Agency business,” said Newton. “I am chair of the new business, with David Newton as MD and Grace Newton as sales director. Although I’m back, it’s definitely David and Grace who are taking everything forwards!”

He continued: “East Midlands Property Management, which has branches in Westgate, Grantham and Cartergate in Newark has been quietly and professionally managing some of the very best properties in the area for 39 years.

“The business has a total of 462 rental properties under management and the branches in Grantham and Newark willcontinue to operate as normal under the East Midlands Property Management brand, in association with David GraceEstate Agency. I am pleased to confirm that we are retaining all nine members of staff across both branches, which means that tenants and landlords will experience no disruption or change to the management of their properties. Clients will be interacting with exactly the same team that has managed their properties so effectively in previous years.

“East Midlands Property Management is currently a lettings only company, and over the coming months we are looking forward to introducing a residential sales arm to the businessthrough the David Grace Estate Agency Brand.”

On completion of the sale of East Midlands Property Management, former owner Peter Mills commented: “We have had a number of approaches for the business in recent years, but when the Newton family approached us with their proposals for taking the business forward, we felt it was a perfect match for our clients and our staff. Having personally been involved in the business for 30 years I am confident that the future of East Midlands Property Management is in good hands.”

David Newton said: “The acquisition of EMPM is very exciting, and we are delighted to be returning to the sales and lettings market in Grantham and Newark with our brand-new David Grace Estate Agency business.

“The Newton family has a wealth of professional experiencein sales and lettings. I have over 20 years of industry experience and have spent the last decade working in a senior management role for one of the largest lettings companies in the country.

“Grace joined the industry four years ago and we are now working on an official launch party for the DavidGrace Estate Agency, which will be located in a very high-profile position in the centre of Grantham.

“David Grace is a family business that will bring some very new, innovative and fresh ideas to the market. It’s great to be back, doing what we do best, which is providing the very best estate and lettingsagency services to buyers, sellers landlords and tenants.”
