UK property consultancy Allsop has launched a new planning department for the first time and has hired Chris Brady to lead the team.

Allsop: Andrew Boyd and Chris Brady

Brady, who has been appointed as partner and head of planning, joins from Savills where as a director he specialised in mixed-use urban regeneration across the living, tourism, employment, retail, leisure, energy, healthcare and community sectors.

Allsop’s planning department will provide planning advice across the full development lifecycle, supporting investors, developers and landowners.

Two further hires will join the firm in the next few months.

Brady said: “The launch of Allsop’s planning team reflects the growing demand for commercially focused, integrated planning expertise within an increasingly complex policy environment.

“The opportunity to join a firm with over 120 years of heritage, known for its commitment to excellence and its ability to evolve with clients’ needs, is incredibly exciting.”

Andrew Boyd, senior partner at Allsop, added: “Following on from record revenue last year, we are pressing on with our strategy of growth in complementary business areas. Planning is fundamental to maximising the potential of land and property. By establishing a dedicated planning department, we are enhancing our ability to support clients with clear, strategic advice that is aligned with their wider investment and development goals.

“This is a natural evolution of our professional services offer and reflects the increasingly complex planning landscape our clients are operating within.”
