Amazon, FTC to meet next week as possible antitrust complaint nears: report

representatives are scheduled to meet next week with the Federal Trade Commission — the latest sign the agency is closing in on an antitrust complaint against the online retail giant — according to a report in the Wall Street Journal on Monday. For years, the commission has been scrutinizing whether Amazon favors its own products over competitors’ on its digital platforms, people familiar with the matter told the Journal. The FTC also has been studying Amazon Prime subscription service’s bundling practices. The lawsuit could challenge the tech giant’s business practices as anticompetitive. Amazon officials were not immediately available for comment.
