Birmingham Airport has been evacuated following reports of a bomb threat which has led to all flights being suspended.

Flights that have landed are away from the terminal buildings and passengers are not allowed to leave, for the time being.

Birmingham Airport wrote on X at 1.34pm, “West Midlands Police is currently on-site dealing with an incident. Airport operations are currently suspended. Passengers are advised to NOT come to the airport at this time.

“The Airport’s social media channels will be updated as and when the situation changes.”

Police confirmed they are responding to reports of a “suspicious vehicle” and the airport has been closed as a “precautionary measure.”

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said, “Birmingham Airport is currently being evacuated following a report of suspicious vehicle. This is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.”
