Edyn’s lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke is set to launch its sixth London location in Canary Wharf.

The 19-floor waterfront aparthotel is set to open in May and will have 279 rooms, plus a ground-floor communal space with a café. A rooftop restaurant and bar will open later in the year.

“The opening of Locke London Canary Wharf marks an important addition to our portfolio,” said Edyn chief executive Alastair Thomann,.

“The property delivers high-end design, versatile communal spaces and our new rooftop restaurant and bar concept. As Canary Wharf continues to grow as a residential, leisure and business destination, we look forward to welcoming guests to a property that reflects both its character and ambition.”

Locke has 28 aparthotels across 14 European cities, including another London property in Kingsland Locke, Dalston, which opened in 2021.

The news is a boost for the repositioning of the financial district, which has seen Canary Wharf Group (CWG) owners Brookfield and Qatar Investment Authority invest in mixed-use offerings across the estate.

“Locke is a fantastic addition to Canary Wharf’s hospitality offering, giving workers, visitors, and customers a wider range of options to stay in Canary Wharf,” said Stuart Fyfe, managing director of retail, leisure and hospitality at CWG.

“Locke’s high-end design aesthetic and positive approach to modern hospitality perfectly complement the area’s evolution as one of London’s most exciting destinations. We’re committed to bringing best-in-class brands and experiences to Canary Wharf, and Locke absolutely delivers on that.”
