Savills strengthens East London sales teams

Jen Holmes

Savills has appointed Jen Holmes as head of sales at its Hackney office, part of the firm’s East London residential sales network.

In her new role, Holmes will lead a department who together cover all market segments of residential property in Hackney and its surrounds, from period flats and lateral apartments to warehouses and substantial family homes.

Meanwhile, James Martin has been appointed as selling manager at Savills Victoria Park office. He steps into the role with over a decade of experience in residential sales across North West London and, more recently, Shoreditch, where he focused on prime properties up to £3m.

Both Holmes and Martin will work closely with colleagues in neighbouring offices, including Clerkenwell, Islington and Shoreditch, as well as Savills lettings and residential development business and specialist international desks.

James Martin

Holmes said: “I’ve spent the past five years living and working in Hackney, so I’m thrilled to take on this new opportunity leading the sales department here. I’m looking forward to drawing on my in-depth knowledge of the area to grow our market share and to continue building, nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients.

Martin said: “I’m excited to take the next step in my career with Savills and to contribute to the ongoing success of the Victoria Park team. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with colleagues across the office, the wider region, and beyond to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”

Liza-Jane Kelly, head of Savills London Residential, commented: “We’re delighted to see Jen and James stepping into these new roles. Jen brings a deep understanding of the Hackney market, while James offers a wealth of experience and professionalism from across the wider region. Together, they will be valuable assets to their market leading teams and to our wider East London sales business.”

Three new engineering hires boost Eddisons sustainability team

Property consultancy Eddisons has made three new appointments to its Leeds-based sustainability and decarbonisation team in a move that has doubled its size in just over a year.

The team launched in 2024 with the appointment of Nazar Soofi, who joined to head the firm’s sustainability and decarbonisation division.

Now, the addition of senior engineer Daniel Stephenson, joining Eddisons from renewable energy business Ebtech, graduate engineer Yijun Liu, who previously worked for professional services firm WSP, and graduate sustainability engineer Daanish Soofi, has expanded the team.

Soofi said: “Eddisons continues to lead the way on sustainability, with a rapidly growing client base across the public and private sectors who we have the privilege of working with and supporting on their journey to net zero.

“We are thrilled to welcome these three new talented engineers on board. Daniel, Yijun and Daanish’s appointments are strategic hires, indicative of both the firm’s commitment to sustainability, as well as our ongoing investment in the skilled young people who are the next generation of talent and vital to futureproofing us as a business.”

This year Eddisons’ sustainability and decarbonisation team secured over £25m of funding to enable public sector clients to roll out energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation projects across England, in the final round of funding announcements for the Government’s £3.5bn Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS).
