The cousin of the US Vice President JD Vance who fought with an elite Ukrainian unit for almost three years condemned the “ambush” with took place on 28 February with President Donald Trump aiming their fury at President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Nate Vance has said he believes that the US Vice President is being used as a tool by the Kremlin, he told the French publication Le Figaro.
Nate said that Trump and JD Vance conducted “an ambush of absolute bad faith” on President Zelensky in the Oval Office, the Kyiv Post reported.
Nat said his cousin is very smart and that his “heart is in the right place,” but he did condemn over the meeting.

Nat told Le Figaro, “JD is a good guy, intelligent…When he criticised aid to Ukraine, I told myself that it was because he had to please a certain electorate, that it was the game of politics.
“But what they did to Zelensky was an ambush of absolute bad faith.”
JD Vance also became very well known amongst Ukrainians as he said on 21 February 2022, “I gotta be honest with you, I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or another.”
Hs said he had tried to contact his cousin, and they have not spoken for some time, he told the US vlog The Real Jim Morris Show, he also said that JD Vance is making uninformed policy towards Kyiv.
He said, “His own cousin was on the front lines. I could have told him the truth, without pretence, without personal interest.
“He never tried to find out more.”
Nate served in the US Marine Corps where he learned his infantry skills, whilst JD served as a USMC military journalist, the Kyiv Post reported.
