EIA reports a weekly fall in U.S. crude supplies; gasoline stockpiles up more than 6 million barrels

The Energy Information Administration on Wednesday reported that U.S. commercial crude inventories fell by 2.2 million barrels for the week ended Sept. 29. On average, analysts polled by S&P Global Commodity Insights expected the report to show a decrease of 1.4 million barrels. The EIA report also revealed a supply climb of 6.5 million barrels for gasoline, while distillate stockpiles edged down by 1.3 million barrels.
