The Formula One season hits the Spanish Grand Prix later today as Red Bull look to continue their dominance. The Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona was the scene of Max Verstappen’s first-ever victory in F1 and the Dutchman is again expected to lead the way as his relentless run continues.
Spanish drivers Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz are in for a big reception while the world awaits to see just how potent recent upgrades at Mercedes have been. Lewis Hamilton believes today’s race offers the chance to show off recent alterations, none of which were apparent during the Monaco race last month.

Hamilton accuses Russell of dangerous driving after 200mph collision
Lewis Hamilton accused George Russell of “dangerous” driving after the Mercedes team-mates collided at 200mph in qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen will start Sunday’s race from pole position ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz with British driver Lando Norris an impressive third for McLaren.
Hamilton lines up in fourth, despite a bizarre coming together with Russell, who qualified 12th, on the main straight at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya.

There is a mix of sunny weather and light rain scheduled for Barcelona on Sunday.
