Lando Norris’ bid for the Formula One world championship title is back on track after he defeated McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Norris, who started third on the grid in Budapest, stormed to the front to cross the line in 1:35:21.231, ahead of his Australian colleague who came in second.

Piastri was 0.698 seconds behind, and sees his lead at the top of the standings cuts to nine points by the Briton.

Norris’ compatriot George Russell, the Mercedes driver, completed the podium, finishing 21.916 seconds behind Norris.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who had surprisingly stolen pole position in qualifying, was knocked off his perch and off the podium entirely, finishing fourth and 42.560 seconds behind the winner.

Max Verstappen was way down in ninth, and Lewis Hamilton finished 12th.

Here are the latest drivers’ and constructors’ championship standings for the 2025 Formula One season following an eventful Hungarian GP.
