Delays on multiple TfL and National Rail lines during rush hour

The Reform UK leader has compared Keir Starmer to the former Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe as a council has told the Prime Minister to postpone the local election, which is what the African tyrant used to do, before he was ousted in 2017.

Nigel Farage has said this is “outrageous” as the Labour “despot” is like the Zimbabwean dictator.

GB News reported that Farage wrote, “This [is] outrageous. Keir Starmer is behaving like Robert Mugabe.”

Zia Yusuf the Reform UK chairman said, “So all but confirmed: Labour and the Tories have colluded to undermine democracy and cancel local elections.

“The establishment is terrified of Reform. All they do is delay the inevitable. The turquoise tidal wave will only grow larger.”

Thurrock Council said, “For the reasons set out in this report, the Cabinet is recommended to agree: To commit to the government Priority Programme for Devolution, enabling the Council to focus on working with neighbouring authorities to develop the devolved strategic authority alongside local government reorganisation.

“To agree as a consequence of participation in the government Devolution Priority Programme, the Leader and Chief Executive approve a letter to the Secretary of State asking to postpone local elections to be held on May 1, 2025.”

Earlier this month Starmer was accused of “governing like a despot” and Labour are “running scared” from Reform UK.

This comes as Reform UK could take a large slice of Labour’s areas and it is “quite clear these elections are potentially being cancelled” due to the “rise of Reform,” a party source told GB News.

Local government minister Jim McMahon warned that in 2025 some elections might no take place as local authorities could either be closed or merge.

This has sparked anger from Reform UK as the party has seen a wide range of success across council votes, GB News reports.

Labour is thinking of scrapping local elections which is part of Angela Rayner’s “devolution” plan, LBC has revealed that Sussex, Hertfordshire, Kent and Essex are part of those areas.

Ahead of the May local elections Reform UK are targeting seats across the UK and Labour has been issued with warnings over their “threat to democracy.”

A spokesman for the party told GB News, “It’s quite clear these elections are potentially being cancelled because of the rise of Reform.

“They’re running scared of the ballot box. Labour knows the only way they can avoid losing the elections is if they cancel them.”
