Genesis G80 EV gets a massive, $22,500 lease incentive on 2024 models

The Genesis Electrified G80 is getting an update for 2025, but the 2024 model still embodies just about everything you probably think of when hear the words “luxury sedan.” And now, Genesis is offering huge incentives to clear out its remaining 2024 models.

At the launch of the new 2025 model, Genesis said the electric G80 was already, “the perfect balance of athleticism and elegance,” and after my few weeks I spent driving around Chicago in a 2024 G80 last fall, it’s tough to disagree.

But, before I get to my take on the Genesis Electrified G80, here’s what the analysts at CarsDirect had to say about the the $22,500 lease incentive on remaining 2024s with Advanced trim:

The 2024 Genesis G80 EV has some of the biggest discounts on a luxury car. The Advanced trim features a whopping $22,500 lease cash incentive good for nearly 30% off MSRP. While we still don’t consider this a cheap car to lease, this could present a surprisingly attractive upgrade from the gas model.

If you’ve been looking for a top shelf electric sedan but find a Tesla too politically polarizing and a Mercedes EQ too suppository-like, a $22,500 price cut (before dealer discounts) may be just the thing to put the Genesis on your radar. Electrek’s Take

While the G80 wasn’t designed as an EV from the outset, I felt like I wasn’t punished for that fact from behind the wheel. The big Korean EV just drove like an especially smooth (and especially quick) luxury car of the Old School Variety™. To me, it felt like the car had more in common with the old Lincoln Town Cars or Jaguar XJ8s, and less with the Ultimate Driving Machine™ BMWs that became the template of all upscale sedans in the mid-late 90s.

What’s more, popping the hood didn’t reveal a carpeted frunk. It showed off a stack of high-tech-looking EV stuff that was the talk of the local Cars and Coffee – and y’all know I love attention. If that sounds like something you might love, definitely give the G80 a chance.
