What is Kia cooking up now? After previewing the refreshed Seltos and the upcoming EV2, the brand is teasing yet another new vehicle, hinting “a new future is on the horizon.”

What new vehicle is Kia teasing now?

Kia is on a roll. We got our first look at the second-generation Seltos earlier this week with an updated design inspired by its latest EVs.

Although the all-new Seltos won’t be fully electric, Kia is gearing up to introduce its new entry-level EV, the EV2. Kia posted a teaser of the EV2 covered in a drape on Tuesday, confirming it will officially debut on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Brussels Motor Show.

Now, Kia is teasing another mysterious new vehicle. The company previewed a sharp-looking new sedan on Wednesday, accompanied by the caption “A new future is on the horizon. Our vision takes shape soon.”

It’s clearly not the new Seltos SUV or EV2, so what is it? The “Kia Concept,” as the automaker calls it, appears to be the next-gen Stinger.

In 2024, rumors circulated that Kia was planning an electric successor to the Stinger, likely to arrive as the GT1 or EV8, but reports later that year claimed the project had been canceled.

Is the electric Stinger (EV8) back on track? Kia discontinued the gas-powered Stinger after the 2023 model year, with the more powerful all-electric EV6 GT taking its place.

Kia is quickly expanding its EV lineup with plans to cover nearly every segment from an entry-level EV1 to the three-row EV9 SUV. A flagship electric sedan, possibly the EV8, could open a new market for Kia as a lower-cost alternative to the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.

If it is all-electric, the Stinger EV would likely be based on the E-GMP platform that powers Hyundai’s IONIQ series and Kia’s other EV models.

The platform enables a driving range of over 300 miles, fast charging (10% to 80%) in under 20 minutes. It also supports high-performance models with rear- and all-wheel-drive powertrain options, over 600 hp, and a 0 to 60 mph time of under 3.5 seconds.

Some reports claim the electric Kia Stinger will be based on Hyundai’s new eM platform, which is expected to enable a 50% improvement in driving range, new ADAS features, and greater performance than its current EVs.
