Newcastle are in the middle of an injury crisis, with their defence being hit especially badly. Nick Pope could be back and Sven Botman is getting better, but Dan Burn, Tino Livramento and Kieran Trippier are all definitely ruled out.

Both sides are struggling coming into this fixture, but Newcastle have won five of their last six games against Manchester United and no Fernandes massively weakens Amorim’s team.
But with Newcastle depleted so much in defence because of injuries, it seems very unlikely that the Red Devils will not at least score once at Old Trafford.
With a metaphorical hangover for both sides after Christmas, it would be no surprise to see a draw between them.
