Minsk has warned the West of nuclear conflict as Ukraine are receiving “enormous sums of money” which is being invested militarily to fight Belarus and Russia.
The Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin has accused the West of creating a scenario whereby they are preparing for military conflict with Russia and their allies.
Moscow has repeatedly warned the West over supplying vast amounts of weaponry to Ukraine and has said that this could easily turn into nuclear conflict.

Khrenin said during the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security, “Intensive military preparations are under way in the West; enormous sums of money are being invested in this. It is necessary to understand that, in the capitalist world, nobody will tie their assets up in [long-term investments in costly] weaponry and in beefing up the ranks of the army for nothing.
“So, one can make an unambiguous conclusion: the possibility of a direct military clash with NATO in the future is becoming more and more evident.”
The Belarusian Defence Minister warned that a nuclear response is the only reason why the West has not started a large-scale war with Russia.
He added, “It is no accident that the Republic of Belarus is considering returning tactical nuclear weapons to its soil as a potent element of strategic containment.”
Such threats from Moscow have repeatedly been dismissed as propaganda designed to drain public support for Western governments’ efforts to help Ukraine defeat Russia.
The State Department has announced a further $200 million military aid package for Ukraine, the Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced late on Monday.
Blinken said, “Today we are announcing the next package of security assistance to aid Ukraine as it defends its territory and protects its people.
“This package, which is valued at $200 million and is being executed from previously authorized Presidential Drawdown Authority, includes air defense munitions, artillery rounds, anti-armor capabilities, and additional mine-clearing equipment.”
The US State Department said they will continue to support Ukraine until Vladimir Putin or the Russian regime stop all hostilities and completely pull all troops out of the whole of Ukraine.
Blinken added, “Russia started this war and could end it at any time by withdrawing its forces from Ukraine and stopping its brutal attacks. Until it does, the United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine, for as long as it takes.”
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the US for providing the new defense package.
President Zelensky said, “I thank Joseph Biden, the US Congress, and the American people for a new $200 million assistance package.
“Air defense missiles, artillery ammo, mine clearing systems, and anti-tank weapons will add strength to our Defense Forces. Another step toward our joint victory!”
