Polestar EVs are now able to use the Tesla Supercharger network

Polestar announced that its electric vehicles are now being officially onboarded into the Tesla Supercharger network.

Joining the likes of Ford, GM, Rivian, and others, Polestar EV owners become the latest non-Tesla EV owners to gain official access to the Supercharger network after Tesla opened it up to other EV manufacturers in order for them to adopt its NACS connector as the new standard connector for EVs in North America.

Starting in the coming months, many new EVs or new model-year EVs are going to start hitting the market with the NACS connector as standard on the vehicles.

In the meantime, every automaker making deals with Tesla to get access to the Supercharger network has different arrangements to supply their existing owner base with adapters to access the fast-charging network.

Today, Polestar says that its owners can order a NACS adapter from their local service point:

Future Polestar products will adopt the NACS inlet as standard equipment. Owners of existing Polestar products can order a NACS adapter through their local Polestar Service Point today with deliveries planned for mid-November. In addition, Polestar’s in-car Google Maps will be updated to show all available NACS chargers.

Anders Gustafsson, Head of Polestar North America, commented on the announcement:

“By offering customers access to the Tesla Supercharger network, we are able to provide owners with more charging options than ever before, elevating the Polestar ownership experience with more efficient charging convenience and capabilities. With the adoption of this standard, in combination with approximately 10,000 CCS DC fast chargers, current and prospective Polestar customers now have access to nearly 27,800 DC fast chargers and can feel more confident in their ability to charge on the go.”

Now you can expect to see some Polestar EVs at Tesla Supercharger stations around North America.
