Sir Ed Davey calls for ‘urgent’ review of UK security in sharing intelligence with the US over Signal ‘leak’ – London Business News | London Wallet

The Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has called for an “urgent” review into the security of sharing intelligence with the US.

This comes as the Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added to a Signal chat along with top Trump administration officials.

Goldberg said he was mistakenly added to the private Signal chat on Monday where officials discuss planned for strikes on Yemen.

Sir Ed told MPs in the House of Commons during Prime Minister’s Questions, “Will the Prime Minister order an urgent review into the security of the intelligence we share with the United States?”

Sir Keir Starmer said, “We share intelligence with the US on a daily basis. [Sir Ed] would like to think of himself as quite reasonable – and when he’s not jumping into Windermere, quite serious – but unpicking our relations with the US on defence and security is neither reasonable nor serious.”
