Sir Keir Starmer has been slammed over his decision to recognise Palestine state, Jeff Banks accused the Prime Minister of “flip-flopping like a wet kipper on the fishmonger’s slab” over his Middle Eastern policy.

Banks told GB News that it is impossible for Starmer to recognise the “state of Palestine” because “there isn’t one,” warning that Hamas cannot be trusted.

Bank told GB News, “Israel became the State of Israel. There is no state of Palestine,” and that Egypt withdrew from Gaza and Jordan left the West Bank in 2005 meaning that the Palestinians were to govern themselves under a “licence” agreement.

Banks said, “Put it into context, if we had 6,000 terrorists turn up at Glastonbury and do the same thing, there would be outrage. We would have reciprocated in kind.”

He said that Hamas is not to be trusted and he has doubts over any lasting negotiations.

Banks said, “Until that war is finally prosecuted by Netanyahu, it’s impossible to sit down and have a realistic discussion.”

He added, “He’s [Starmer] doing it because of wokeism in Labour and playing to the Muslim vote.”

He criticised Starmer again saying he is not making genuine diplomatic decisions and is “whistling to the wind and playing to the gallery.

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said, “This is Sir Keir Starmer’s Neville Chamberlain moment. Apparently the promises to do ‘everything possible’ to bring the hostages home meant nothing.”

The CAA said on Sunday Starmer’s actions is a “deliberate betrayal of those taken hostage and slain on 7th October 2023” and the Prime Minister has rewarded “Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and their supporters.”
