The British Prime Minister has stated he is ready to send UK troops to Ukraine to help their planning in guaranteeing security of Europe.
Sir Keir Starmer said the UK are already leading the role in Ukraine against Vladimir Putin’s war and this “also means being ready and willing to contribute to security guarantees to Ukraine by putting our own troops on the ground if necessary,” he wrote in the Daily Telegraph.
Starmer added, “I do not say that lightly,” saying he feels “very deeply the responsibility that comes with potentially putting British servicemen and women in harm’s way.
“But any role in helping to guarantee Ukraine’s security is helping to guarantee the security of our continent and the security of this country.”
Starmer also said that “in the coming days” he will meet with the US President Donald Trump as the UK has a “unique role” to make sure Europe and the US work closely to secure peace.

Making reference to Putin, Starmer said, “US support will remain critical and a US security guarantee is essential for a lasting peace because only the US can deter Putin from attacking again.”
Starmer added, “We are facing a once-in-a-generation moment for the collective security of our continent.
“This is not only a question about the future of Ukraine –- it is existential for Europe as a whole.”
The Ukrainian President said on Saturday afternoon that Putin must withdraw all his forces from all Ukrainian borders there were in place before the war started on 24 February 2022.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said “I hope” that the US President Donald Trump will be on “our side” and will push Putin from “all our territory.”
Speaking to Newsmax TV channel Zelensky said, “And of course, when we talk about a just peace for Ukraine, we understand that we do not have the power to push them out from all our territory.
“Yes, we have to push them out with diplomacy and with our partners, but not to lose. And that is why I think that, at a minimum, they have to go to the line before a full-scale invasion.”
