The British Foreign Office sanctioned bosses of “Polar Wolf2 penal colony following the death of  Navalny last Friday.

The UK is the first country to impose sanctions on the penal colony based near to the Arctic Circle and six people are affected by the move.

The six people slapped with sanctions will have their assets frozen and will now be banned from entering into the UK.

The Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron said on Wednesday, “It’s clear that the Russian authorities saw Navalny as a threat and they tried repeatedly to silence him.

The government has called for Navalny’s body to be released to his family, on Monday the European Union demanded for a independent international investigation into the death of Navalny.

The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has dismiss the EU’s call flowing the suspicious death of Valdimir Putin’s main political opponent, Russian state-controlled news agency RIA Novosti reported.

It has been said that Navalny was murdered under the orders of Putin at the maximum security prison in the town of Kharp which is near to the Arctic Circle.
