Iran has warned Israel against any escalation against the Palestinians will war with other Arab countries who are ready to act.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warned that the “hands of all regional parties” have their hands ready and on “the trigger.”

On Sunday the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military will “demolish Hamas” and the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) are ready to launch a ground offensive in Gaza.

Netanyahu has vowed to search Palestinian militants after the deadly attacks in southern Israel on 7 October which killed more than 1,300 innocent civilians.

Amir-Abdollahian said, “If the Zionist aggressions do not stop, the hands of all parties in the region are on the trigger.”

Amir- accused Israel of “genocide” for enforcing a blockade on the Gaza Strip and a ground offensive will “open new fronts of resistance” in the Middle East.

On Saturday Amir-Abdollahian met with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar, the pair discussed the attacks in southern Israel and they agreed to “continue” with their “cooperation.”

Amir-Abdollahian said, “The responsibility for the possible opening of new fronts of resistance in the region and any escalation of today’s war directly falls on the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel).”

Firas Maksad, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute in Washington DC, told Al Arabiya English, “Hezbollah and Iran will face the daunting choice of either becoming actively engaged or remaining on the sidelines while witnessing the dismantling of the Palestinian leg of their axis.”

He added, “Nevertheless, they are aware that direct involvement in a conflict with Israel could exact a steep toll on Hezbollah and result in Lebanon’s devastation at a magnitude greater than that experienced in 2006.

“The stakes here are exceptionally high.”
