The transfer window is continuing to produce surprises at a serious pace with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all splashing the cash on major targets. Today could be the day for Declan Rice to be confirmed as a Gunners player while Spurs’ fight to keep Harry Kane is set for another major test.

Arsenal’s wait to announce the double signing of Rice and Dutch defender Jurrien Timber goes on with further deals also expected at Emirates Stadium, particularly for a new midfielder. On the other side of north London, an £85million bid for Kane is tipped to land from Bayern Munich with the striker due to start pre-season training today.

Crucial day in Harry Kane’s future

Harry Kane is due back at Tottenham’s training ground today for the start of his pre-season amid further speculation over his future.

L’Equipe report that Bayern Munich want to sign the striker “at all costs” and are readying a third bid worth in the region of £80m.

But that are said to be ready to pay add-ons that will take the deal past £85m (or €100m), which was rumoured to be Spurs’ asking price for their talisman.

Declan Rice to Arsenal announcement today?

Arsenal fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of Declan Rice’s signing, plus that of Jurrien Timber, yet neither has landed despite medicals and terms being completed.

Rice has been training in Portugal, away from his new team’s training camp in Germany.

And the most recent update came when it was reported that West Ham’s lawyers were waiting on final Arsenal’s lawyers to sign off on the deal.

Chelsea want Cherki to replace Pulisic

Chelsea are preparing an offer for Rayan Cherki.

The Lyon wonderkid is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and now ESPN report that Chelsea want Cherki to replace Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic is set to join AC Milan for just shy of £20million, and Cherki would cost around £35m.

Man United join Barnes race

Manchester United are interested in Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes.

The midfielder, who is also being tracked by both Newcastle United and West Ham, is expected to leave the Foxes this summer after the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Leicester want around £50m for the player, but the Mail believe a fee closer to £40m is more realistic.

Newcastle are considered frontrunners.

ICYMI: Chelsea holding fresh Dusan Vlahovic talks

Paul Dybala and Elye Wahi continue to be linked with a move to Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino seeks more firepower followin the signing of Nicolas Jackson.

Still, there is one name who is now seemingly considered the frontunner.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues have held fresh talks with Juventus over the prospect of signing Dusan Vlahovic.

Barca want Lo Celso and Cancelo

Barcelona want to sign Tottenham and Manchester City outcasts Giovani Lo Celso and Joao Cancelo this summer.

According to reports in Spain, Barca head coach Xavi has requested three players to complete his transfer business – with former Chelsea and Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu the third.

It is expected that Lo Celso would likely join on loan along with Cancelo given the club’s financial restraints.

Rice sends message to Arsenal

Declan Rice has made a head start on his pre-season preparations as he waits for his move to Arsenal to go through.

The West Ham captain is expected to complete a £105million move across London this week before joining his new team-mates on a flight out to the USA for the club’s pre-season tour.

Rice underwent a medical last week, along with fellow incoming Gunners signing Jurrien Timber, despite being allowed additional time off after the Hammers’ Europa Conference League in late May and England’s Euro 2024 qualifiers the following month, after the domestic season concluded.

But the midfielder is not in the mood to rest during his supposed time off and was back at The Campus training centre in Portugal to keep his fitness ticking over.

Bayern plot €100m Kane bid

Bayern Munich are preparing a third bid for Harry Kane which could be worth more than €100million (£85m).

L’Equipe claim Thomas Tuchel has decided it is the Tottenham striker or no-one this summer as he looks to reinstate a 4-2-3-1 formation with Kane at the front.

Another new bid will therefore soon be submitted, worth an initial €90-95m (£77-81m) and could cross the €100m barrier.

Loftus-Cheek I knew I had to leave

Ruben Loftus-Cheek says last season made up his mind about leaving Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has left the Blues permanently after almost two decades at the club, joining Italian giants in a deal worth an initial £14million with a further £3m potentially due in add-ons.

Loftus-Cheek started half of the Blues’ Premier League games last season but was unhappy with the roles he was being asked to play under four different managers dueing a tumultuous campaign, prompting him to assess options elsewhere.

He joins Fikayo Tomori, a team-mate with England and former Chelsea colleague, along with soon-to-be-former Blue Christian Pulisic, in Milan and said the defender helped him decide.

Caicedo issues Chelsea plea

Brighton star Moises Caicedo has reiterated his desire to join Chelsea this summer, insisting: “I can’t say no.”

Chelsea have made the 21-year-old their key midfield target this summer, and are willing to spend big to land the young Ecuadorian as the Seagulls slap a £100million price tag on his head.

Standard Sport understands the Blues are confident that fee will drop as they continue talks with Brighton.

Caicedo was also the subject of two rejected bids from Arsenal in January and, with Chelsea now the clear frontrunners for his signature, the midfielder had made clear he wants to move to west London.
