Investors are expecting the Federal Reserve will keep its benchmark interest rate at the current target range of 5.25% to 5.5% at its policy meeting in early November. Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester is scheduled to speak around midday on Friday Eastern Time. For the week, the Dow is on track to decline almost 1%, the S&P  is on pace to fall 1.3% and the Nasdaq is heading for a drop of almost 2%, FactSet data show, at last check.
