The 2026 Volvo EX90 is smarter, more powerful, and can charge faster than ever. Despite considerable upgrades, Volvo is making it more affordable with a new base model.
2026 Volvo EX90 prices and driving range by trim
After finally launching the EX90 in early 2024 following a series of delays due to software glitches, it became pretty clear that the issues were not resolved.
Volvo promised that the 2026 model year would fix the issues with a new 800-volt electrical architecture, along with a few other key updates.
According to Volvo, the three-row electric SUV can now gain 155 miles of range in just 10 minutes at an 800-volt charging station.
The 2026 EX90 gains a new dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin-based computer with an impressive 500 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second). To give you a better idea of how powerful that is, an iPhone 17 can achieve about 35 TOPS.
The added computing power enables new features, including safety alerts for slippery road conditions and other hazards, an improved automatic emergency steering in darkness, and Emergency Stop Assist.
And the best part: Volvo is offering the upgrades for 2025 EX90 owners, free of charge. Owners can schedule an appointment through their local dealership for a one-time fix.
Even with the upgrades, the 2026 Volvo EX90 is more affordable than the outgoing model. According to Car and Driver, the 2026 Volvo EX90 starts at $78,090, or 3,200 less than the 2025 model year.
The lower price is thanks to a new single-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) base model that delivers 329 horsepower.
As previously announced, Volvo boosted power output for the EX90 twin-motor and twin-motor performance variants, which now pack 449 horsepower and 670 horsepower, respectively.
The 206 Volvo EX90 twin-motor is priced from $81,390, while the twin-motor performance model starts at $86,390.
At 68.7″ tall, 77.3″ wide, and 198.3″ long, the EX90 is about the same size as the Rivian R1S (77″ H x 82″ W, 201″ L), BMW iX (67″ H x 77″ W x 195″ L), Hyundai IONIQ 9 (70″ H x 78″ W x 199.2″ L), and Porsche Macan EV (64″ H x 76″ W x 188″ L).
Although Volvo has yet to announce official range and other specs, the company told Car and Driver that the 2026 EX90 twin-motor will feature up to 305 miles of range, down from 315 in the outgoing model, thanks to a smaller 102 kWh battery pack.
