Warsaw has sent thousands of troops and tanks to the border with Belarus to prevent Russia attacking Poland.

Warsaw has sent 30,000 soldiers and state of the art main battle tanks and artillery to the Polish village of Czartajew close to the Belarusian border and Brest.

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said, “We are perfectly aware that the Kremlin rulers started the war because they want to rebuild the Russian Empire.

Therefore, in order to prevent our homeland from being attacked, we are strengthening the Army…We are establishing new military units.

“This tank battalion here in Siemiatycze [Czartajew] will be equipped with K2 tanks.”

Reuters reported that the Kremlin has warned Poland over deploying thousands of troops and tanks to the border with Belarus.

Poland’s President Andrzej Duda said that in the next defense year they will spend over 4% of their gross domestic product (GDP) over security concerns.

Duda said, “When we see the emerging danger beyond our eastern border, we know perfectly well history and experience has taught us this that any price is worth paying to ensure that Poland is free, sovereign, independent and that Poles can live in safety.

“Next year, we plan to spend 137 billion zloty on defense. That is more than 4% of our GDP,” according to the Polish news agency PAP.

In August, Poland announced that they are to send around 10,000 troops to the Belarusian border as tensions continue to mount.

The Polish Defence Minister said, “About 10,000 soldiers will be on the border, of which 4,000 will directly support the Border Guard and 6,000 will be in the reserve.

“We move the army closer to the border with Belarus to scare away the aggressor so that it does not dare to attack us.”
